In my capacity as Director of Operations for the UK One World Tours Limited, I am often asked about the destinations I've been, so with this in mind, shall strive to give a good opinion on those places and offer some helpful advice. So here are my top suggestions for sites to visit on holiday in South Africa.
The beauty of South Africa is remarkable with its ancient beauty and traditional culture of the African continent. It has an abundance of plants and animals that are unique to this country. Here the visitor can experience the savannas, arid, dry in the deserts, lush green rolling hills, beautiful snow-capped mountains and miles of breathtaking coastline all within the same country.
At this gives the visitor a range of opportunities ranging from idyllic walks in the beautiful mountains of land of wine, soaking up the sun on a beach on the wild Atlantic coast, fly fishing for trout in the Natal Midlands or playing golf on the best and most beautiful areas world. Of course, no trip to Africa would be complete without a safari adventure in which Bush can experience the lions stalking their prey or bathing elephants in the pools.
With impeccable white sand beaches and an amazing backdrop of Table Mountain is not surprising that Cape Town and Western Areas Cape is considered one of the most beautiful in Africa. Table Mountain offers the most famous landmark of Cape Town more than 100 scenic ways to climb. The view from the top in all directions are magnificent and inspiring the feeling of being on top of the world makes this a popular destination. The most popular way to reach the top is revolving cable car that transports you to the top in a few minutes.
Make sure you have some warm clothing as it can get very cold very quickly at the top of Table Mountain.
The Cango Caves are located near the town of Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape, with the main cave to be one of the best in the country. The caves spectacular as the room containing openings and large limestone formations as well as some passages quite small. The smallest passage that tourists have to pass for something less than 30 cm high at the start.
The Cradle of Humankind, is named after the major paleo anthropological sites. These sites have produced hominid remains of more than 2 to 3 million years making it a World Heritage Site.
The Sterkfontein Valley landscape houses ancient cave system that has been evident in recent years fossil dating from about 3.5 to 1.5 million years. There is a perfectly calm lake which is about 40 meters below ground.
Addo Elephant Park has over 450 elephants, other animals include buffalo, black rhino, wild boar, eland, kudu and a variety of deer species. The park is open all year and is located an hour's drive from Port Elizabeth. As you can imagine, with that volume of elephants, visitors are sure to find a some of the spectacular view of the world.
Kruger National Park in northeastern South Africa is one of the wildlife areas of the world's largest conservation. The home of the Big Five, is an amazing testimony to the African jungle. And the incredible experience of watching these magnificent creatures in their own habitat, among the more adventurous have the opportunity to experience safaris special interest include things like photography, observation birds, and watch the stars.
There is much more to do in this beautiful country and I am sure there will be something for everyone.
