What constitutes a good sized Brown Trout?

I've been flyfishing for about 7 years I am new in brown trout fishing. I've been several times to the West Canada Creek in New York. I've been taking a lot of what I'm assuming they are stored brown trout that are about 9 inches. I caught a couple who were 16-17 inches and thought those were good size, but then I read that you can lift more than 20 ". What is a good size for brown trout in the fish and where the fish (stream name, state, etc)?

I fish in the western U.S. and a lot of wild fish, non-native brown trout. Around here (Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, etc) 8-inch brown is considered a bit rickety. A 10-inch is fine, but 12 inches is preferable. I'd be happy to take a 16 – or 17-inch brown. In fact, I could go home after the capture of one well big for me to finish on a high note. I went fishing for a few hours last Saturday and caught a few browns in the range of 10-12 inches. Then I took a not could have been more than 7 inches, and two or three models after sharp declines reached a 14-incher. Calculate I was not going to kick the daylight I had left, I went to the van … Brown trout can definitely get much bigger than that – I've caught brown trout over 20 inches long, but are rare. Most wild fish will be distributed around 10-18 inches in size, with some isolated examples and exceptions. You captured exactly what I expected you to catch on a provisioned channel, but I expect / guess / hope that there are some surviving winter in which people grow assortment to an exceptional size – happy hunting.

Try large Muddler minnows, small fish clousy, woolly bugs, poppers, leech patterns, and crayfish patterns. Size 8 or 10 would be a little on the small side, while 2 or 1 / 0 would be a little too large, so opt for something in between.

Largemouth bass live in shallow water habitats among reeds, water lilies and other vegetation naturally found in water.
