Can I take a small knife to China?

I turn to China (PRC) in a few weeks to teach English for a year or more. During my spare time, I intend to fly fishing in Mongolia, if possible. In any case, my question is .. Can I bring my Leatherman and a small knife fixed blade (3.5in blade) to China? I'm not sure whether to take these items in China is legal, and I do not want to take those points unless you know the legality of flights to China with a knife in my checked baggage.
