What size fishing poles need for inshore / flats fishing in Florida, ie redfish trout snook?
going in February, fly tips help!
WT has a 8.9 aluminum reelseat. Ensure you have a decent aluminum coil with a good drag system, (I will not go into queue for that 20 LB Red because you have a "Mickey Mouse") reel. Clousers white / green, white / gold, white / red, Chartruese, gold and glass are # 1, (in my opinion!). They are inexpensive and almost all (except perhaps Permit or bones) come to them! "Critter Flys" as Umpqua from "Anderson McCrab "or" Crazy Charlies "work well for shallow water Reds and trout. You can also try" Decievers ", Bend Backs" and "cockroaches", etc. and Poppers "Foam Flys" excellent work for trout. If you are a fly-bound man can easily make and save some Clousers a lot of money. After losing 4.5 Clousers (which go for about $ 3 – $ 5 per piece in a Flyshop), the Spanish Mac or trout begin thinking it would be cheaper to buy a fish supper to try to catch one! (lol) Conduct, Reds and trout are not as "picky" as freshwater trout / Salmon. Bendbacks, Decievers, etc can and Will work but are not cheap and you lose as fast as any other fly! Colors: Variations Golden Chartruese, White, Red and work. I hope this helps ya? Good luck!

If you are a fan of fishing, then you probably spend time looking for new places to go participate in your sport. A lot of fly fishermen stay in the United States go to places in Montana, Wyoming and Alaska to try their hand. I would like to introduce a new world of fly fishing, the Caribbean.
At the heart Caribbean is the island of Antigua with incredible coral reefs and beautiful crystal blue water that is filled with the likes of marlin, tuna, wahoo, tarpon and permit. Bonefish are a particular treat in Antigua and is a favorite of those who fly fish anywhere in the Caribbean. These fish have three times the resistance and force of a size comparable rainbow trout and will really test your forehead.
If you really want treatment that your guide will carry out "jumping tarpon". Tarpon are one of the most magnificent fish of all to catch inshore. The giants often approach 200 pounds and a spectacular sight to see when they start jumping out of water. I have seen these giants jump as many as eleven times once they feel the pressure of the hook. If you are a northern fisherman who always fished for pike, the tarpon will make forget all about them as their performance pales in comparison.
A great fly fishing spot in Antigua is the Codrington Lagoon. These twelve-mile strip with an endless pink sand beach is thriving with an abundance of all types of marine life. It is not as advanced as many other places that have their own ports and harbors sports but the natural beauty of the area is overwhelming and will leave you breathless. The topography of the area is friendly with a maximum elevation of only 125 feet and relatively shallow water making them a perfect place to go after bonefish and tarpon that love the local flats. This is the perfect destination for those who like out of all this because it is very primitive and the area only has 1,500 inhabitants.
If you're the type who wants more comfort in the fly fishing trip you should consider the Falmouth Harbor Marina. It was built especially to accommodate large ships and has docking for vessels with draft up to 20 inches. This marina located on the road leading English Harbor has all the amenities of a resort town with shops, bars and restaurants, all on foot.
Thus there you have it, two completely different options for fly fishing in Antigua. What are you waiting for? Go book a trip.
