I have a center of fly fishing and real in both senses (used)

I understand your talking about the coil on the bar .. yes you can do that .. but if you look at how it is configured you will find that there is a "right" way use and in a way that most will have a click sound when the line runs out .. the "wrong" way to close the line. You may want to go through a shop in the work of fishermen and ask them to show how the reel, check the line for age and such.
