1. Open communication. It is important that you provide the guide all the information they need so they can tell what kind of fishing trip is best for you. Be sure to be honest in telling the guide how much experience in fisheries. This will help you know what to give advice and suggestions for you can get the most out of your time.

2. Seek help from friends and family. Ask friends and family who have fished and if not can provide some references. It is better to ask about their experiences, the things you need to do and things you have to look in a guidebook. They may also provide references for guides who have tried and have proved effective for them. This will be an opportunity for you to do, if the guide refer to knowledge that you have enough or will accommodate the customers.

3. Browse the internet. The Internet can provide a large number of websites where you can find the best guides in a certain place. You also can send messages and questions on the website and may be able to find the information you need.

4. Determine if the license is your guide prospective. Is you better know the person that is working is working according to law. A licensed guide is also sure to be relied on especially with matter of integrity and trust. Ask the guide of their name and telephone number, including the state licensing office. A guide is not willing to provide the information they are asking is not worth your time.

5. Find exactly what you are paying and how long the amount would cover. You need to know this information so that you are able to manage your schedule before the trip and the plan of things you need to bring what is not covered by the payment you made. Some include the price of accommodation in the package while other guides may charge extra for it. Asking to cover your expenses will also help you evaluate whether the services they receive is worth the money you spend.

6. See the guide. To assess whether the guidance that you can get work with you. If not, just will be wasting your time and money. Fishing is a time to learn and enjoy, but if you two do not get along, the whole trip could be ruined. Meet the first guide before you set foot on the boat. Exert a little effort to call the guide and make small talk to break the ice and make you feel comfortable in the day of actual fishing.

7. Also time to find out how long the prospective guide has been at work. This will make it easier for you to assess the level of experience the guide has earned in that field. It is best to choose a guide who has been fishing for many years. They are the ones who tend to have skills and teaching techniques that will be of great help to you.
