What are the current conditions of fly fishing in Yosemite Valley?

We will camp in Lower Pines this weekend (August 22-23), and I would like to do some fly fishing on the Merced River, near the camp. Is it worth it? If so, any advice?

Worth it? Yes Beautiful river, spectacular scenery. Want to get something? Possibly. Leaving early, as there are crowds of people in Yosemite Valley and the middle of the morning will many people around frightening sight.
