Where is the best place to fly fish near Edmond Oklahoma?

I'm new to fly fishing and wants to test without having to drive to Colorado or Arkansas. Any advice for a novice would be appreciated.

Wyoming. :-) I found that I can fly fish anywhere. I used my 5-6wt rod for bass and crappie in SC and my 8wt is kicking the crap out of redfish and trout in salt water. Go check out your local fishing hole and do it. You will have to tailor your flies to species that are present, large poppers buggy and as for bass, Wooly Buggers size of about 10.8 and for the little poppers type of fish and sun fish. I would not use anything less than a 5-6wt for anything other than trout. If you stick a good sized pinch of hell in a light weight fly rod. You can fish fly for any species anywhere. I am now in Iraq and I have been here fly fishing and catching catfish and carp and such fish under an application called ASP. I know there are great fishing holes OK to find one nearby, strike! Tight lines and good luck!

We plant rice, milo, and millet in all our reservoirs and holes in the green wood. Do not hunt any of our hunting areas more than twice per week, and try to let the rest of ducks in these areas as much as possible. During the season to check each of our hunting areas to prepare for the next hunting days. Last year Retriever Lodge 2505 ducks died in our privately owned land. Two of our groups killed more than 225 ducks in a period of 3 days. We manage all year for ducks. My family owns a fertilizer plant and farms, and use our manpower to work in our areas hunting in our spare time. Two of my employees are basically working in the hunting areas full time. To fly my plane to explore the game areas for not to disturb the ducks. We take the time and we are dedicated to providing exceptional hunting. Browns Canyon on the Arkansas River in Colorado???

I will be fishing there in mid August. I will use light spinning off and could break the rod. I will be targeting trout. Any suggestions on colors and baits on light spinning rod and some suggestions on colors and flies.

Colors and baits are going to be very dependent on conditions on the day you're fishing. I talk to locals to see what has been working in recent days, once you get there.
