There's something about fall that adds a little excitement in the air. Maybe it's because school has started. It could be the reduction of the sweltering summer temperatures. Perhaps the excitement of football season or could be the start of holidays including Halloween and Thanksgiving. While you are setting the agenda and plans for what to do this fall, do not forget to include a visit to the Smoky Mountains. It is the perfect to experience the magical change of seasons.
We all know that during the autumn leaves change color, but if you have not seen the fall colors in the Smoky Mountains, has lost a masterpiece of nature. While the official date for the fall season are 23 September through 21 December, the peak time the leaves to change is unpredictable because there are so many factors involved. According to the National Park Service, "In the higher elevations where the climate is similar to New England color displays begin as early as mid September. The fall color display usually reaches its maximum at mid-elevations and lowest between mid October and early November. This is the park's most spectacular display. "It is during this time that you find brilliant shades of deep burgundy, bright orange, bright gold and bright emerald green in the sunlight. These magnificent colors turn in the Smoky Mountains valuable work of art.
There are many ways to experience this beauty. Traveling by car is the most popular because it allows great freedom. Hundreds of people jump in their cars to spend the day enjoying the breathtaking colors of autumn. Bring a picnic, park the car and enjoy your meal surrounded by the glorious landscape. I prefer to walk? These mountains offer more than 800 miles of trails to explore laced with waterfalls, historic buildings and other surprises along tranquil paths. View wildlife when the bike 11 miles from Cades Cove Loop Road, or horseback riding through 550 miles of trails. Whatever method you like, there is definitely something for everyone.
With a spectacular display of color throughout, it's hard to imagine anything more beautiful. However, if you've seen the reflection of fall colors in a bright stream know that the Smokies lift themselves repeatedly. That's probably why fishing is another popular attraction in the Smoky Mountains.
If you are a beginner or have years of experience, you'll enjoy over 2,000 km of rivers full of brook trout, rainbow and brown, and the small mouth and under the rock. While fishing is allowed year round, use live bait or food is not allowed. You may only use artificial flies and lures with single hook. Since the park is located across the border in Tennessee, North Carolina, a permit or license from any state is required.
Fall brings high daytime temperatures in the 70s and 80s, with temperatures falling into the 50s and 60s at the end of the season. This causes a fall time opportune to take advantage of nature. If you can only escape for a day is a day well spent. Obviously, longer stays allow more time for fun, adventure and relaxation. With numerous nearby cabins for rent, you can enjoy the evening set in the beauty and tranquility of the Mountains Smoky. If you will for a day or more, make plans now to see the magic of the fall colors unfold before their eyes.
