"A quality rod can make a copy of a fortune." A true statement that many fly fishers already know. Another statement from many of them would also agree with "a rod with a lifetime Guarantee does not cost much." And that, my friends, would be a mistake. As a matter indeed, except in only a few circumstances, unwarranted rods actually cost more than justified ones.
A point in the show: the annual trip Last year the fish Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, I broke my "affordable" four-piece rod 5WT. I contacted the company and found that was out of warranty. Ah … what to do … well, since the break occurred in the male part of the body, as often happens, I repaired it, only to be broken again in the first fish of trip this year Platte River. I went straight to the local fly shop (It's in the river, only grouped into law, dripping waders and all, with drums in hand chirping about the need for a stick again.) and found a stick really affordable, but cost more than the gorge, has a life warrantee. Luckily for me it was near a store.
Thus, the new bar more expensive, will eventually be cheaper for her life, because if it breaks, you replace with little or no cost to me. Obvious now, but when I bought the re-match now "affordable" one.
A quick survey of the difference price between justified and unjustified rods is often not more than $ 100. That's all one hundred dollars. Some are even in the same price range, and a manufacturer (the bar I had to replace unjustified), but offers less of a warrantee on a rod that is more expensive than a model with a warrantee life. I know, confusing, right? Let me say it again: One of the cheaper models have a better warrantee of one of its most expensive things. Go figure.
What can I do for a manufacturer does not justify a rod when others will? Well, my first impression is that the manufacturer has no confidence in your product. If so, be justified the rod, right? My second impression is inescapable that the manufacturer is less concerned with customer service than it should. In any event, neither case is acceptable, and a buyer should look for a manufacturer that covers both bases.
Now, if you're in the market for a rod, say you're a beginner or has limited funds, can not afford to buy a loaf of justification. Break once (there are two types of people: those who have broken the bars, and those) and the you will end up spending more. If you do not have the money to guarantee a rod of waiting until it does. Again, the price difference is relatively small. If you can not pay the extra hundred dollars, you may want to reconsider fly fishing for the moment, because it can be an expensive sport. "Maybe" does not mean "there has to be," and the purchase of a security bar is the first step to controlling costs and maintaining affordable fly fishing. More or less.
