Halifax, Nova Scotia is a wonderful city to visit and offers plenty to do for tourists. Many come from a variety of outdoor activities, including the opportunity out at sea on a lobster boat. The experience of raising a lobster trap, while aboard the boat and then enjoy a meal of your catch is available when you visit Halifax during the summer months and lobster season is open.
On some trips, you get a guided tour of Halifax Harbor and some education on the life cycle of the lobster. There may even naturalists on board who can answer most questions you may have.
If lobster is not your thing, but I still love to go out into the ocean, you can book a fishing trips at sea, are available to leave the port of Halifax. Fish species they target, cod, haddock, mackerel and bluefish.
If you are looking for something the whole family can enjoy, consider whale watching. You can out of Halifax harbor to the open sea while the ship's captain guides the ship to the pods whales and seals and dolphins. Definitely want to have the camera available! Other day trips include visiting the islands off the coast of Nova Scotia where you may be able to see wildlife such as puffins on the Isle of Birds.
If you like the fly fishing, fly casting considered some of the sharks who are crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Fly fishing is one saltwater sports fastest growing shark and goes could be the thrill of a lifetime.
If you are planning to venture out to see, sure to bring a long a warm sweater and a rain jacket, even in the summer as the weather can change quickly. You want to be comfortable, regardless of the time to really enjoy of your trip.
