What are the heads of shooting and how are they used?
I'm amazing saltwater fly fishing and someone told me to use the head shot to longer cast
Before jumping into a shooting head make sure you have your basic cast down. Shooting heads appeared on the scene to wheels through distance tournament. Lines 28 to 30 feet are usually heavy to attach to run thinner lines. The idea is to load the rod quickly, eliminate false casting and take his head out the rack of the line of march. They make some adjustments in its cast and a bit of getting used to. They work well for its purpose. Some companies make shooting heads feasture floating systems, intermediate and sinking his head that quickly and easily attach to the line management giving you more versatility. An example of such a system can be found here: http://www.orvis.com/store/product.aspx?pf_id=31K7&dir_id=758&group_id=10657&cat_id=5402&subcat_id=6012
