Spring has sprung and summer is fast approaching, much of the country.

For those of us who seek eternal summer comes and goes too fast.

One hardly has time to get out of his sandals before the leaves are changing colors.

My Aunt Marie used to lament the arrival of the Fourth of July saying the summer was over half way when he arrived.

But to me, Fourth of July is the mark of a summer vacation room. And like other holidays, is a special time on Sanibel.

For those who want visit the island at that time, there is usually a great Fireworks found. Scanning TripAdvisor forums I found this post with some good suggestions on how to see the sparks fly in and near Sanibel:

Captiva is not to have any fireworks this year. South Seas Resort decided against them.

There will be a parade [in Periwinkle starting around 9:30] and fireworks in Sanibel, try for a place in an island causeway a great view.

Ft Myers Beach is doing them too.
