This is a very general question, I'll try to give few tips, however. 1. Often, to be effective, you need to sneak into the water and to distribute their knees, it can be hard on the knees and waders. You can get by with a stye flying to cover various stages of a hatch of Caddis by linking flies in a certain way, then cut to match the adult, emerge, or pupae. tie with the entire wing, and a tail behind Antron yarn. for adults, cut the tail Anton. for an emergence, leaving the tail and cut half of the wing. For pupae, leave the tail wing to cut a check. For larvae, crop tail and the entire wing. Saves having to perform many styles of flies. And it saves money, too. If it is legal where you are, try using a dry fly and a nymph smaller behind her. The dry fly fishing can have on fish, and also serves as the strike by the small nymph. Tie your dry fly tippet, and then tie a piece of 12-18 inches of tippet to the bend of the dry fly and then tie the nymph of that. Again, this is not legal everywhere, some places are just flying alone, so make sure your well before you do. I could continue, but that's all I have time. Good luck
