What flies are good for Western North Carolina in the summer?

I go fly fishing in the Cullasaja River in North Carolina in August. What models are good for summer trout fishing?

You can not say exactly what is hatching in the river, in August, but I can imagine. First, take some ground – hoppers, beetles, ants, and then take some Caddis imitations in several sizes to mimic "what" (butterflies, bees, etc.). Be prepared to look around and see what land in the water and try to imitate it, or simply take a terrestrial imitation likely that a suitable site (for overhaning beneath vegetation along banklines, etc..) scorpion and small fish should be active and forage available in August, too, to take some streamers, Muddler Minnows, Woolly Buggers, filtered, and the big employers under water. The usual nymphs and scud patterns are useful – Hare's Ear, Pheasant Tail, and all that all grow in North Carolina. For dry flies imitate aquatic insects, you can still see some Betis hatches, and there are several flies to match this – Parachute Adams in various sizes, if nothing else – but if possible, you want a local or regional model is more accurate. Take Dun Spinner, emerge, and nymph imitations, if I can. I'ma little fuzzy on caddis fly hatches in your area – here in the U.S. Westerners are going to have Caddis hatches in the fall, catching fish and results can sometimes be dramatic. If you have caddis fly hatches, again, match the hatch. Do not forget to trust the local people. Visit a local fly shop to get to your destination and ask about the patterns, times, places, etc. Ask people to reach the river, too.
