Both by tradition and practical experience fly fishing for bass in streams is fishing for small mouth. It likes low light, fresh water without the growth too much weed in it and with sand or gravel bottom. These conditions are more common in streams than in lakes, at least in lakes in southern and central Midwest. As we move toward the north, especially in Canada, these small mouth – the conditions become very common in lakes. As you go south, they become more rare, except in the mountain rivers. These conditions almost exactly delineate where small mouth thrive.
River small mouth are splendid fishing rod. They take the flies with an enthusiasm that is almost equal. They almost any kind of a fly, too serious errors, wet flies, exact imitations of the natural insects and flies that do not resemble anything in nature. These highly colored fantasy type flies, however, recent studies of refraction of light can be really good imitations of the manner in which wounded minnow or small aquatic insects floating on the surface of the water is a fish. However, the small river mouth to take all-and how they fight!
They live in the shallow river under water and therefore have a surface fly particularly well. Since that fish in shallow water are easiest to fear, are less common under the river frightened by flies than by the larger and heavier bait Casting Lures. Many Sometimes I've seen a lower river to turn a fly that lit up behind him and take it eagerly, while a plug, cast bait fish near him scamper for the nearest hiding place. That does not mean bait casting is not useful for river fishing, small mouth, but restrict their use.
mind, will bring many to your grave Creel or stringer.
Most small rivers in the mouth can wade, which is ideal for fly fishing, it is necessary read more correctly, because the lower river are larger than the average flow for trout.
As with the trout, not all of a stream low is low. Fish have their places of feeding and resting or hiding places, such as trout do. In general, low gather the same type of water to feed and rest as they do in the trout, although generally select small-mouth closer to the most heavy and faster today.
If the bass will be in the rifles or pools depends mainly on water temperature, time of day, the water phase (either high, normal or low), hatches in the water, and the conditions weather and barometric. So feeding periods moles also have an effect, but in my experience, are not as big a factor in the flow conditions as in lakes. When the bass will be and what they will do is completely governed by the combined effect of these natural conditions.
