While other remia fisheries under threat from commercial exploitation, fishing for sailfish Guatemala has been protected for many years and still growing.
The coastline and ecosystem support vast amounts of bait warm eddies round years and have large pods of sailfish between 2 and 50 miles from port. Guatemala has many official (and unofficial!)
