Fish catch could not be easier than here in the Fraser Valley. You can walk 1,000 miles of streams, wander around 1,000 acres of lakes high mountain, or troll 11,000 hectares of reservoirs.

Whether fly fishing or a night crawler on the end of the line, you can find many different species of fish throughout Grand County. Rainbow, murderer, brown and brook trout can be found in most rivers, while Mackinaw and cruise kokanee salmon depths of large bodies of water.

The Colorado River offers trout fishing gold medal with some of the older brown and rainbow trout in the state. The Fraser River runs through the city of Winter Park and the resort, and is fed by many other large streams narrowly averted with hidden pockets of trout. St. Louis Creek and Willow Creek offer brookie, bows and browns with scattered creek side camp.

The four major gaps in the area are in the Granby area, and offering lots of ramps and marinas for sailing enjoyment. With 7250 hectares and 40 miles from shore, the lake is known for his mackinaws Granby big. Grand Lake, the largest natural lake in Colorado and adjoining Shadow Mountain Lake also can produce 20 pounds Mack. The lakes in the area are also well known for great ice fishing in winter.

You never know what going to melt in the upper area, but one thing is certain, there are an abundance of streams and lakes to choose from. Isolation and surrounding desert makes you feel like an early American explorer, discover your own paradise for trout.
