The hostel is located in Bettles, Alaska, 180 miles as the crow flies from Fairbanks. The city is known for being the smallest incorporated city in Alaska. This position also serves as the starting point of the Gates of the Arctic National Park, Brooks Range in northern Alaska, and Kanuti National Wildlife Refuge.
